Friends Thomas Trinder and Malcolm Moore have combined their love of food and cars to create a truly unique foodie experience for Winterland MK this Christmas. Transformers style, their specially built 1952 Ford pick-up, has been adapted into a fully functioning BBQ, serving authentic southern style food; smoked meats; ribs, pulled pork, gourmet sausages, brisket and burgers. Not only are all their meats locally sourced, but Burnout smoke and marinade all the cuts themselves, and make all their own slaws, salads and sides, chopped mac and cheese – delicious!
Only operating since January 2019, Burnout BBQ is something wholly unique for Christmas. Yet Thomas and Malcolm are skilled foodies having run the popular Oxo Café in Oxford for some years. For them their converted hot rod BBQ is a dream come true “it’s something we’ve wanted to do for years and we’ve rebuilt the truck from scratch” Thomas explains.
Since its inception, the converted pick up has been travelling the country, satisfying and delighting guests at festivals and private functions with their amazing cuisine “it’s been absolutely crazy and the response has been amazing” says Thomas. And of Winterland MK “we’re over the moon to be doing Winterland MK and really looking forward to it”.
So put the dates in your diary and be sure to stop by Burnout BBQ this Christmas!
