Vodafone UK connects people, businesses and devices to help our customers benefit from digital innovation. Our services span mobile, fixed line, broadband and the Internet of Things (IoT). We employ around 11,000 people across the UK, and operate more than 400 retail stores nationwide.
Having made the UK’s first mobile phone call and sent the first text, Vodafone has a history as a tech pioneer. In 2018 we made the UK’s first live holographic call using 5G, and were first to start carrying live 5G traffic from a site in Salford, Greater Manchester. Today we serve over 18 million mobile and fixed line customers in the UK, with 4G network coverage at 99%. Our customers voted us the UK’s Best Mobile Network at the 2018 Trusted Reviews Awards for the second year in a row. To help deliver Gigabit UK, we are rolling out full fibre broadband across 12 towns and cities in partnership with CityFibre, reaching one million homes and business by 2021.

Gigafast Broadband is bringing some of the faster broadband speeds in the UK, straight to homes and businesses across Peterborough. Vodafone Gigafast Broadband uses full fibre connectivity or fibre to the premises (FTTP). This type of broadband technology is currently only available to approximately 8% of UK properties. By using faster and more reliable fibre-optic cables, installed by CityFibre, at every stage of a connection, Vodafone Gigafast Broadband gives users download speeds 16 times faster and upload speeds 125 times faster than the average fixed broadband service in the UK. This means the whole family can simultaneously stream their favourite film, play games online or upload videos and photos across multiple devices with no lag, buffering or dropout.

CityFibre is the UK’s leading alternative provider of wholesale full fibre infrastructure. With existing networks in more than 50 towns and cities, CityFibre provides wholesale connectivity to business and consumer service providers, local authorities and mobile operators.

Underpinned by a £2.5bn investment programme, CityFibre has network rollouts underway targeting at least 20% of the UK market by 2025. This will deliver a new generation of Gigabit-capable full fibre infrastructure to five million homes and businesses. A growing number of Gigabit City projects have been announced for full-city rollouts including Milton Keynes and Northampton, and CityFibre continues to prime its existing network assets for expansion.

CityFibre’s first Gigabit city Milton Keynes, where almost every home and business will be able to access next-generation full fibre connectivity, always puts local communities and families at its heart, and is delighted to be a partner of Winterland MK.

Winterland MK is proud to support YMCA Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire. The year-round work they do providing accommodation, support and well-being services helps prevent youth homelessness and enables young people to reach their full potential.

L&Q is a regulated charitable housing association and one of the UK’s most successful independent social businesses. The L&Q Group houses around 250,000 people in more than 92,000 homes, primarily across London and the South East.

Everything we do begins with social purpose. Our roots go back to the ‘new wave’ of housing associations created in the 1960’s, born out of a growing social consciousness around housing and homelessness.  We set out to provide quality, affordable homes for the most vulnerable in society and it is that same fundamental mission that drives us today.

L&Q has secured planning consents to build 450 homes at Beauchamp Park, and 60 homes at Birnam Mews, Tiddington in Warwickshire, alongside 225 homes at Saxon Reach, Milton Keynes.

As a charitable organisation, our role goes beyond providing homes and housing services. We are a long-term partner in the neighbourhoods where we work. We hope to build aspiration, opportunity and confidence in our communities through our £250 million L&Q Foundation and our skills academy.  Our care and support subsidiary, L&Q Living, also offers housing and other assistance to meet the evolving needs of older and vulnerable people in our society.
